Opened 8 Jul 2019

The 2019/20 tariff changed the default payment approach for adult mental health services to a blended payment approach, consisting of:

  1. a fixed element based on forecast activity
  2. a variable element
  3. payment linked to quality and outcome measures and the delivery of access and wait standards
  4. an optional risk share agreement if providers and commissioners consider this appropriate locally.

For more information, please see our Guidance on blended payment for mental health.

We want to understand your organisation's experience with the blended payment approach. Your insights will be vital for the further development of mental health payment approaches.
