Overview

The national patient safety team is asking for an honest overview of how organisations carry cylinders when oxygen dependent patients are transported within healthcare organisations. For example, cylinder racks on wheelchairs, beds and trolleys, to prevent the cylinder from being carried by the patient or lying directly on the bed when transporting a patient within the organisation, whilst still recieving oxygen.

Why We Are Consulting

There is a concern that organisations may not be using approved holders for cylinders leading to potential patient harm.

This survey can be completed anonymously as we really want to capture what is actually happening in your organisation - thank you.
