Overview

NHS Improvement’s response to the Kirkup report included reviewing arrangements for the induction and onboarding of very senior NHS managers. This was as part of a wider effort to create a well-supported leadership environment.

We would like to find out your views about what support would help maximise the success of new-in-post executive and non-executive NHS leaders. We expect this offer to have locally, regionally and nationally delivered components. The themes in this survey have been drawn from interviews with system leaders and key reports such as the Kerr review and the Smith review. This work supports the elements of the People Plan particularly ‘Making the NHS the best place to work’ and ‘Improving our leadership culture’.

This survey is split into three parts and will take up to approx. 15 mins to complete:

  • About you and your role
  • What support would help / would have helped you optimise your performance when new in role?
  • How might this be best delivered or accessed?

Based on your feedback, we will work with partners including NHS Providers, NHS Clinical Commissioners, NHS Employers and the National Leadership Academy to align existing offers and to identify any other opportunities to support you in the best way possible.

This survey is anonymous.

The data collected from this survey will be used solely for the purpose stated above. The aggregate data will be shared with our partners. For further information regarding NHS Improvement and your rights, please visit https://improvement.nhs.uk/privacy/.
