Independent Sector Review Questions

Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) and the Independent Healthcare Providers Network (IHPN) worked in partnership to develop a pilot programme focusing on Orthopaedics and Spinal work carried out in the independent sector. The ambition of the pilot programme was to identify examples of innovative, high quality and efficient service delivery whilst looking at areas of unwarranted variation in clinical practice.

The GIRFT programme has been piloted in orthopaedics and spines across three Independent Sector acute care providers: Horder Healthcare, Nuffield Health and Spire Healthcare. The results of the pilot demonstrate that whilst exemplar care exists in the independent sector, so too do areas for improvement and unwarranted variation. A generic programme report will be published in due course, providing recommendations and sharing good practice.

The GIRFT team would like to ensure that the programme makes a worthwhile contribution. To help with this, we are contacting every hospital that took part in a GIRFT IS programme to review the datapacks, visit and to learn how the programme has changed services/processes.

Please take a few moments to complete this follow up survey: we'd like you to tell us what you thought of the programme, and share how you and your colleagues have made use of the data pack and action plan/observation notes that were sent to your hospital following our deep dive visit.

Please follow the instructions on the below link by 28th August 2020.
